Literacy opens doors.  Reading and writing skills not only boost academic success, they also increase confidence and independence.  Unfortunately, the path to greater literacy is often blocked by confusing jargon, predatory business practices, and other gatekeeping tactics.  The mission of Open Door Literacy is to increase accessibility to high quality, evidence-based literacy services.  Every person--regardless of age, race, gender or orientation, citizenship, learning challenges or finances--deserves to be able to read and write.
